Wednesday evenings in the PillerseeTal are all about Seeleuchten – a magical night by the lake. As the sun sets over Lake Pillersee, music and singing fill the air. Local folk dance group Nuaracher Stoabergplattler wow the crowd with their traditional performances, while the live music ranges from alpine sounds to modern tunes.

The evening ends with a spectacular fire show that will light up the night sky – and children’s eyes alike. Local food and drinks are available, making it the perfect summer night out.

Dumpling Festival in St. Johann in Tirol
The famous Dumpling Festival, featuring the longest dumpling table in the world, is one of the most popular culinary events in Tyrol. Every year, as Oktoberfest kicks off in Munich, we celebrate Tyrolean dumplings in all varieties: bacon, bread, cheese, and apricot dumplings are among the favorites.

Over 26,000 dumplings in 27 different varieties are served by 20 festival hosts, while 8 music bands provide a lively atmosphere. The town center transforms into a huge open-air restaurant – locals and visitors alike dress up in Dirndls and Lederhosen.

Take a seat at the 595-meter-long dumpling table and enjoy delicious dumplings, live music, and the unique festive spirit!

Tradition is alive and well in the PillerseeTal – and the weekly summer concerts by our local brass bands are a true highlight. A popular gathering for locals and guests of all ages, these open-air evenings are filled with classic alpine sounds and community spirit.

Every Friday, enjoy live performances by the traditional bands from Fieberbrunn, Hochfilzen, St. Jakob in Haus, St. Ulrich am Pillersee, and Waidring. Sit back, relax, and let the music take over – it’s a true taste of Tyrolean culture.

From May to October, several mountain huts in the PillerseeTal invite you to enjoy live folk music and delicious Tyrolean snacks. With fresh mountain air and stunning views from the sun terrace, a traditional Brettljause (hearty snack platter) tastes even better!

For about three hours in the afternoon, you can relax to the sounds of genuine alpine music and soak up the laid-back atmosphere of the Tyrolean mountains. Join the local hut hosts for a cheerful and authentic experience high above the valley.

One of the biggest sports events in the PillerseeTal: the annual Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen. This major event attracts countless visitors from near and far to the small holiday village, offering thrilling competitions and an exciting supporting program. Fans from around the globe travel to the events to cheer on their idols and experience the electrifying atmosphere in the stadium live. Pursuit, sprint, and relay races for both women and men take place every year at the beginning of December. Don’t miss out on this thrilling sports event – be part of it live!

Experience the Hahnenkamm Races live! Few sports events are as conveniently accessible as the races in Kitzbühel. The "Hahnenkamm" train station is located directly at the event venue. Additionally, the historic town center, with its numerous restaurants, cafés, cozy bars, and plenty of snack and drink stands, is within easy walking distance. The evening award ceremonies will be filled with emotion as the top athletes are honored. On Saturday, the "Hahnenkamm Fireworks" is one of the event's highlights.
