An evening event for the whole family takes place every Monday in the centre of Waidring. Numerous play stations and bouncy castles, face painting, candyfloss and a range of live performances ensure plenty of fun and games. Spend balmy summer evenings enjoying atmospheric live music and regional delicacies. The ‘Bummelnacht’ in Fieberbrunn has been a popular meeting place for young and old alike for many years, attracting both visitors and locals with a fantastic programme of entertainment. Right on the main square, different bands provide a relaxed atmosphere every week, whilst our local restaurateurs treat you to culinary delights from the food truck. Along the village street, there are plenty of play equipment for children, as well as exciting activities for teenagers. A cool atmosphere combined with fun and games – that’s Fieberbrunn’s Stroll Night, definitely not to be missed!

The widely renowned Dumpling Festival, featuring the world’s longest dumpling table, is one of the most popular culinary events in Tyrol. Every year, when the Oktoberfest kicks off in Munich, we celebrate Tyrolean dumplings in all their variations here in St. Johann: bacon, bread, cheese and apricot dumplings are among the favourites.
Over 26,000 dumplings in 27 varieties are served by 20 festival caterers, whilst 8 music groups ensure a fantastic atmosphere. The town centre is transformed into a huge open-air restaurant – locals and visitors come together in dirndls and lederhosen.
Take a seat at the 595-metre-long dumpling table and enjoy delicious dumplings, rousing music and the special festival atmosphere!

In the Pillerseetal valley, Wednesday is all about the ‘Seeleuchten’ festival. Right by Lake Pillersee, music and singing fill the air this evening, and the Nuaracher Stoabergplattler, a local Schuhplattler group, will be putting on their show. The musical programme ranges from traditional folk music to modern sounds. To round off the evening, a fire show will leave everyone, not just the children, wide-eyed with wonder. Food and drink will be plentiful.

The popular ‘Long Friday’ event has a laid-back concert format in store for summer 2026: the Picnic Concerts on the Mountain. Fancy enjoying live music whilst relaxing on a picnic blanket, taking in the romantic sunset and savouring delicacies from your picnic basket? Sounds like the perfect evening? Thanks to an innovative concert format – the Picnic Concerts – this is possible this summer as part of ‘Lange Freitag’ in Fieberbrunn. On ten dates, from 10 July to 4 September, Timok’s Wild World, at the Streuböden midway station, will offer musical delights paired with culinary treats from your picnic basket. And all this amidst a unique mountain backdrop. If you don’t fancy the hassle of preparing a picnic yourself, you can order a picnic basket in advance order a picnic basket online in advance and treat yourselves.

Tradition is very much cherished in the Pillerseetal, and this includes the weekly summer concerts given by our brass bands. A popular meeting place for young and old, locals and visitors alike. On three evenings, you can enjoy the sounds of brass music from our local bands in Fieberbrunn, Hochfilzen, St. Jakob in Haus, St. Ulrich am Pillersee and Waidring. Clear the stage for brass band music!

From May to October, a number of mountain huts in the Pillerseetal valley invite you to enjoy live music and culinary delights. On the sun-drenched terrace with views of the mountains, a traditional ‘Brettljause’ tastes twice as good. For around three hours in the afternoon, you can relax to the sound of authentic folk music and breathe in the fresh Tyrolean mountain air whilst enjoying your holiday. Visit the mountain hut owners in the Pillerseetal valley and experience a convivial time in the Tyrolean mountains!

Experience the Hahnenkamm Races live. Hardly any other sporting event is as easy to reach
as the races in Kitzbühel. The ‘Hahnenkamm’ tram stop is situated right next to the event venue. Likewise, the historic town centre, with numerous restaurants, cafés and cosy bars as well as plenty of snack and drink stalls, is within easy walking distance. The evening award ceremonies will be full of emotion as the best athletes are honoured. On Saturday, the “Hahnenkamm fireworks display” is one of the highlights.

One of the biggest sporting events in the PillerseeTal: the annual Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen. Every year, this major event attracts countless visitors from near and far to the small holiday resort, offering thrilling competitions and a fantastic supporting programme. Fans from all over the world travel to the competitions to support their idols and experience the atmosphere in the stadium first-hand. Pursuit, sprint and relay races for both men and women are on the programme every year in early December. Don’t miss out on this exciting sporting event – be there in person!
